The American ABC network will broadcast a football game from the Bundesliga tomorrow for the first time in history.
Along with ESPN Plus, which will stream the game, ABC will produce the broadcast to the American audience, and as befits the US sports culture, it will do so in a grandiose and focused manner.
True, this is not a direct battle for the championship, but it is a very important game - Bayern Munich must Victory to retain first place, while Dortmund need it to continue fighting for a place in the top four.In
addition, this game will bring together some of the biggest stars in the world. On the champion side are Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller, Manuel Neuer, Yuzua Kimish, Leroy Sana And others, and alongside Dortmund Jayden Sancho and Arling Holland, two of the most exciting youngsters in world football.
There is a lot to see in this game - above all the best team in the world in the last year - and accordingly it will be broadcast live in more than 200 countries.
But the Americans are mainly interested in two players - one on each team - since for them this classic is first and foremost a North American derby: Alfonso Davis vs. Joe Reina.
Canada vs. USA.
Bayern's defender burst into the forefront of Canadian sport last season, so much so that in 2020 the footballer had the first ever male winner to receive the Lou Marsh Award, given to the country's outstanding athlete. The award is usually given to ice hockey players, swimmers , Athletes or alpine skiers, and Davis reached the center of the stage through a sport that is usually on the fringes.
Reina's starting point was simpler. As the son of American footballers, his breakthrough was predictable, but no less intriguing.
After the success of Christian Polisic, many eyes are turned to Reina, and in the upcoming game the cameras as well.
Davis and Reina will be the only two actors to be filmed on "Star Camera" on the American broadcast, one that will follow their every move and include an interpretation by Sebastian Slasser and former actor Hercules Gomes.
ABC's foothold is completely understandable given the potential ratings, but surprisingly it's only happening now.
In recent years, the Bundesliga has attracted a lot of American players, some of them very successful, and this seems to be just the beginning.
Bayern are collaborating with Dallas and recently added the young Justin Che from it, while Dortmund have signed a first-of-its-kind deal with an American gambling company.
At this rate, the next classic will be seen on ABC, CNN, TNT and HBO.
