For Schumacher, 21, his first Formula 1 season begins next week with the test drives in Bahrain.
Ferrari
has given the son of seven-time world champion
Michael Schumacher
a place in the Haas racing team.
The Haas cars are powered by engines from the traditional Italian brand.
There are many indications that he will
compete for Ferrari in
Formula 1
at some point
.
Last
week,
when
SPIEGEL
spoke
to
Mick Schumacher
via video call, the racing driver was looking forward to a week in isolation in a London hotel: After the conversation, he said, “I'll go to the Haas team's factory”.
A driver's seat adapted to the millimeter is then produced there.
The German, who grew up on Lake Geneva, answers the questions openly and confidently.
Mick Schumacher only wants to remain silent on one topic: the health of his father, who had a serious skiing accident in 2013 and has not appeared in public since then.
Mick Schumacher has, as he says, "a very emotional bond" with Ferrari. Often, he remembers, when he was a little boy he would sit in the stands on the test track in Fiorano and watch his father go about his job.
