2021-03-06T08:13:41.064Z

LE SCAN SPORT - The Parisian club continues to increase its popularity across the world on different platforms by settling at the tables of the biggest European clubs.

If it is still far from posting a European track record comparable to the biggest clubs on the continent such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus Turin or Manchester United, Paris SG continues its impressive breakthrough on social networks.

While waiting to one day perhaps add the Champions League in its trophy room, the capital club can congratulate itself on boxing in the same category as the giants of the continent in this area.

Friday, the champions of France announced that they had crossed the symbolic bar of 100 million subscribers on the various platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Tik Tok mainly).

The Champions League final gave a boost

Four months after having exceeded the threshold of 90 million, the Paris SG passed a new milestone while ten years ago, only 500,000 people flocked to follow the club remotely via these applications.

This progression can be explained by the recent European career of the men then led by Thomas Tuchel.

“The club's momentum has accelerated dramatically since its first UEFA Champions League final,” confirms the club.

The establishment of Paris SG fans remains primarily French but the franchise is now exported to all continents with 117 Fans Clubs in more than 30 countries.

The recruitment of Neymar, a planetary star, is no stranger to this galloping internationalization.

Parisians are particularly followed in Brazil, the first country of origin of its followers on Instagram (6.2 million fans), and second country on Facebook, YouTube and TikTok.

Ligue 1 training is also very dynamic in China, Algeria, Mexico, the United States and Egypt but also in India and Indonesia, where they are very present on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.

The Paris SG exhibition is also very promising on TikTok, the booming social network.

With five million followers, the official Parisian account is in second place in the ranking of the most followed clubs via this exchange platform.

In an overall ranking established last summer by the Statista site, Paris SG was in sixth place in the hierarchy of the most consulted clubs on social networks with 78.4 million followers, far behind Real Madrid (233, 8 million) and FC Barcelona (222.6 million) or Manchester United (130.9 million) but in ambush behind Juventus Turin and Chelsea being the only club in the Top 8 to never have won the prestigious Champions League .

The future is hers.
