RB Leipzig is the new Bundesliga leader for at least a few hours.

In the afternoon, Julian Nagelsmann's team prevailed in Freiburg and displaced Bayern Munich from first place by evening.

The VfL Wolfsburg as the previous third lost in Hoffenheim the connection to the two best of the table.

The sixth win in a row gave RB Leipzig the lead in the table for the time being.

After the 3-0 (1-0) success at SC Freiburg, the team overtook Bayern, who, however, could return to the top in the evening with a win against Borussia Dortmund.

The Leipzigers were dominant in Freiburg from the start, but the hosts had hardly any offensive actions to show.

Nevertheless, RB needed a mistake from Freiburg to get the lead.

SC goalkeeper Florian Müller played a ball forward without any pressure in the middle, the guests immediately brought the ball back into the penalty area, where Yussuf Poulsen was completely free and served his neighbor Christopher Nkunku, who only had to push into the goal.

After the move, Freiburg became bolder, but remained as harmless as before.

The goal was made by RB Leipzig again, Kevin Kampl fit intelligently into the penalty area to Nkunku, who saw his striker Alexander Sörloth standing free, the rest was a matter of form.

The final point was set ten minutes before the end of Emil Forsberg, who casually completed a submission by Sörloth from the edge of the penalty area.

Weeks ago this game would have been a real top game, but now both Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen are in danger of falling into mediocrity.

With Leverkusen's 1-0 (0-0) win, Borussia's defeat series continues, while Bayer can hope for a place in the Champions League again.

Both teams did not necessarily notice the crisis situation, but a rather tough game developed.

Leverkusen had more of the game, came dangerously over the wings several times, but scoring chances remained scarce for them too.

After the break, the hosts increased the pressure, pushed the Leverkusen back into their own half and were happy about a penalty whistle after an hour.

The foul on Marcus Thuram was preceded by an offside position, the decision was withdrawn after video evidence.

Leverkusen struck on the opposite side.

Patrik Schick completed a counterattack to hit the neck for the Gladbach in the 77th minute.

Since Marco Rose announced his departure from the club, there have been five competitive games, all five of which Borussia have lost.

After 673 minutes without conceding a goal, Wolfsburg's goalkeeper Koen Casteels had to get behind him again.

In the eighth minute, Christoph Baumgartner ended the VfL goalkeeper's hunt for Timo Hildebrand's 884-minute record with a right-footed shot under the crossbar.

Casteels last conceded a goal in the league in mid-January.

His counterpart Oliver Baumann had reason to be annoyed in the 23rd minute when he had no chance against Wout Weghorst, who was running towards him - Weghorst scored for the 15th time this season.

With goal number 14 of the season, Andrej Kramaric brought the hosts back into the lead in an entertaining game shortly before the break.

Weghorst missed the greatest chance of equalizing in the 61st minute when he headed over the goal from a few meters.

Otavio saw red at Wolfsburg in the final minute after a bad tackle.

Hoffenheim has stopped the downward trend, Wolfsburg has to accept the second setback within a few days after the cup off during the week in Leipzig.

For the first time since Luka Jovic returned to Frankfurt, Eintracht started a Bundesliga match with the Serb at the side of top scorer André Silva.

There was hardly anything to be seen of the two attackers in a hard-fought game with little chance. It was only shortly before the break that Silva tested VfB goalkeeper Gregor Kobel for the first time with a volley from the turn, which, however, got too centered.

Jovic prevented his team's opening goal with the hoe - in the run-up to the alleged 1-0 by Filip Kostic, he was just offside with this.

There were hits that counted: First Sasa Kalajdzic used a fine preparatory work by Marc Oliver Kempf to make it 1-0 for the guests, but two minutes later Eintracht struck back with a left-footed shot by Kostic.

Eintracht remains in a Champions League rank after the draw, VfB has failed to move closer to the European ranks.

It was the hoped-for liberation in the relegation battle for the Berliners.

After nine games without a win, including four under the new coach Pál Dárdai, Hertha was able to win again with a 2-1 win against FC Augsburg.

The guests came to the Olympiastadion with the tailwind of the away win in Mainz and converted it into countable items: after 109 seconds, László Benes on loan from Gladbach hit the opening goal from the left-hand position.

Florian Niederlechner hit the post in the 38th minute instead of 2-0.

The somewhat surprising equalizer fell after a good hour when Krzysztof Piatek headed a cross from Valdimir Darida in an exemplary manner.

The decision in the 89th minute: Dodi Lukebakio safely converted a penalty kick.
