Victory over Borussia Dortmund: Bayern make something of it

2021-03-06T20:40:23.924Z

After nine minutes, Bayern were actually down in the top Bundesliga game. After that, however, the Dortmund team let their opponent stand up again - and the master took advantage of that.

Scene of the game:

40 minutes the game went by in the second half, the spectacle had long since settled, when in the 88th minute a ball flew into Dortmund's sixteen-meter space, was beheaded back to the penalty area marker, and Leon Goretzka took the ball volley and shot it into the far corner to make it 3-2.

A goal that you can score when you are very sure of your form and your cause.

Goretzka is possibly the most outstanding German national player this Bundesliga season.

Result of the game:

Bayern Munich wins 4: 2 after 0: 2 deficit with three goals from Robert Lewandowski (26./44./90.) And the Goretzka goal.

Erling Haaland gave BVB a 2-0 lead after just nine minutes.

The game report of this game can be read in detail here.

It was the seventh consecutive defeat for Dortmund in Munich, but after 1: 5, 1: 4, 0: 6, 0: 5 and 0: 4, 2: 4 at least reads better.

Still: In the end, Bayern are simply Bayern.

The first half:

After 70 seconds, Erling Haaland put BVB in the front with a full shot from 20 meters, after nine minutes he completed the next combination to make it 2-0.

Bayern was counted, but BVB let him come back into the game afterwards.

The Munich pressure was almost resigned to fate, pulled back a long way, and Bayern made something out of it: Lewandowski cut back on Sané's preparatory work to 1: 2, and equalized with a penalty kick shortly before the break.

The advantage of the guest team was gone again after 45 minutes.

The second half:

For a long time without any real highlights, Haaland was replaced after 60 minutes, after which the BVB offensive was completely orphaned.

Nevertheless, without Goretzka's stroke of genius, it would have been enough to split the points.

Dortmund had complained about a foul on Emre Can before the knockout goal, referee Marco Fritz, who was not always at the ball level, saw it differently.

Player of the game:

Goretzka strong as so often, Lewandowski and Haaland goal-hungry as usual, but the man of the game is Niklas Süle.

Süle?

The normally central defender, often criticized in recent weeks, acted on the wing this time and revealed unusual offensive potential.

Once he dribbled through almost the entire Dortmund half.

Was it really that central defender Süle?

Flashback of the game:

The club from the Ruhr area led 2-0 after nine minutes, then Bayern struck back thanks to their goal scorer.

The story has been told before, on January 22nd, 1977, the last time that a guest was 2-0 up in Munich so early.

That was MSV Duisburg back then, and Ronnie Worm scored the goals.

Difference: Bayern and Gerd Müller didn't manage more than a 2-2 at the time.

Duel of the game:

Before the game, they had already kicked off the big scorer duel at Sky.

Including shoe size comparison (Lewandowski 44, Haaland 43).

In the game he was also a number ahead.

Robert Lewandowski now has 31 goals this season.

That is at least impressive.

Appearance of the game:

During the break, Sky presenter Sebastian Heilmann and expert Lothar Matthäus threw themselves into racing suits to advertise Formula 1 on the broadcaster.

But they looked more like space travelers from the backdrop of space patrol Orion.

Certainly a hidden criticism of professional football as a planet.

Return of the game:

Joachim Löw was once again in the stadium and saw his three Pappenheimers Mats Hummels, Jérome Boateng and Thomas Müller all play.

During the break, Sky reporter Patrick Wasserziehr didn't have much more in mind than nailing the national coach exclusively to a Müller return.

"You can think about it," says Löw, and: "If you bring someone like that back, then he is also set." Nice template to drag the topic through the arena for the next few weeks on the nose ring.

Number of the game:

Bayern are top of the table again, but they conceded 33 and 34 goals they conceded for the season. That was the last time they got at the end of the season in 2011.

Or in other words: if you go through the table, only eighth place Freiburg has conceded more goals.

Or another way: Bayern Munich have now conceded more hits than Werder Bremen.

Finding the game:

Schalke 04 caught up one point on old rivals Borussia Dortmund on this match day.
