The third and final day of the Grand Slam Tashkent, Uzbekistan 2021 ended great for the Israeli team and the bronze medal of the European Under-23 Champion, Inbar Lanir in the weight category up to 78 kg.
She started her way in the competition with a Vasari advantage victory over the American Papdakis Falls, continued with an iPhone victory over Sofia Berger from Belgium and then defeated Korbanbawa from Uzbekistan with another iPhone in the quarterfinals.
The Israeli winning streak stopped in the semifinals when she lost to Croatian Proudla, a bronze medalist from the 2020 European Championships.
Shani Hershko, the coach of the women's team, said after the win: "First medal for Inbar Lanir in the prestigious world round. We went through 3 long and exhausting days of competition, 7 athletes who participated in 23 fights, a total of 16 victories.
Amber's achievement is tremendous but at the same time there is a feeling that the team is progressing and a bit of a feeling of missing out.
Timna Nelson Levy finishes fifth and misses another medal and Gili Sharir finishes seventh and is once again close to winning a medal.
