Liverpool FC have lost a home game in the Premier League for the sixth time in a row.
The English champions lost 0-1 (0-1) against newly promoted Fulham FC, and Mario Lemina scored the winning goal for the relegation-threatened guests (45th minute).
In the table, Liverpool are initially still in seventh place, but can still be overtaken by Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa due to pending games.
The gap to fourth place, which entitles you to participate in the Champions League, is currently four points.
Fulham remains in relegation rank 18, but is now level on points with 17th Brighton & Hove Albion.
As in the last few weeks, the team of coach Jürgen Klopp started with a weak replacement, in the back four alongside regular Andrew Robertson the inexperienced Neco Williams, Rhys Williams and Nathaniel Phillips started.
However, the Liverpool team also had difficulties in forward gear: Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah hardly came to dangerous deals.
Fulham's Ademola Lookman had the first big chance, Neco Williams was able to deflect the shot of the former Leipzig player into a corner at the last moment (25th).
The outsider then continued to play at eye level - and took the lead shortly before the break: Liverpool's back team had already cleared a free kick from the half-field to Salah, but the striker let the ball be removed by Lemina who had rushed up.
With a low shot in the far corner Lemina scored the 1-0 for the guests (45th).
After the break, Liverpool tried to force the equalizer and settled in Fulham's penalty area.
Jota had a good chance with a volley (48th), while the substitute Sadio Mané hit the crossbar with an arc lamp (70th).
Beyond these opportunities, Liverpool often lacked the pace in action to bring their own attackers into play, so Fulham managed the result confidently over time.
