PSG-Barcelona: a fireworks display in the middle of the night near the Catalan players' hotel in Paris

2021-03-10T09:01:30.215Z

At around 4 a.m., many rockets were fired near the Eiffel Tower, a neighborhood where the people of Barcelona slept.

It's the return leg, but off the pitch.

While the PSG receives this Wednesday evening FC Barcelona in the second leg of the knockout stages of the Champions League, the sleep of the Catalan players was disturbed by fireworks.

Winners 4-1 in the first leg in Spain, the Parisians are in a very favorable position to qualify.

But some of their supporters used a common ploy to put even more odds on their idols' side: disturb the nighttime quiet of opponents by going to their hotel in the hope of tiring them out before the match.

Fireworks were fired around 4 a.m. near the Pullman Eiffel, where FC Barcelona was staying, in the 15th arrondissement of the capital.

slept well @FCBarcelona?

At 4 am this Wednesday, we are already celebrating the qualifying of PSG?

The practice is so common that some had even announced it in words barely covered as early as Tuesday.

At what time is the fireworks release scheduled in front of the Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel hotel (75015 Paris, France) where the FC Barcelona players are accommodated?

The process obviously raised questions from residents.

@prefpolice any info on the noise of fireworks in the 15th arrondissement of Paris at 4am?

Fireworks at 4 a.m. near Trocadéro ?!

The night before the first leg, the same had happened in Barcelona.

But the shots had taken place at a less troubling schedule, in the early evening, before the start of the curfew put in place at 10 p.m. due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Wednesday night's PSG-Barcelona pre-game kicked off last weekend.

Parisian supporters deployed banners hostile to the Barcelona club on Sunday.

One of them, offensive to Shakira, a world-famous singer and companion of the player Gerard PiquĂ©, was officially “strongly condemned” by Paris Saint-Germain.
