Many thought that the election of Joan Laporta as the new president of Barcelona would cause the star Lionel Messi to continue playing for the team next season as well, but now Argentina are reporting otherwise.
According to ESPN Argentina reporter Christian Martin, Messi will leave Barcelona at the end of the season.
"The new management will not change that either," the report said.
The preferred options for Messi as the next stop remain Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, with the possibility of a future move to MLS later on.
