The Washington Wizards and Israeli rookie Danny Abdia will open the second half of the NBA season, when they meet the Memphis Grizzlies tonight (Wednesday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. Israel time).
Washington is looking to continue the momentum from before the All-Star break so it has held a 3: 8 balance in the last 11 games, but one of those losses was to Memphis (125: 111), and the Wizards will surely want to avenge last week’s defeat.
"Memphis attacked us on both sides of the field," coach Scott Brooks said of the previous meeting between the teams.
"They were physical on defense, and offensively they went to the paint. They made us problems but I think we have a chance to get revenge. We'll have to play better. It's a good team, they's fighters. We'll have to keep them out of the paint. "They have to show more physicality so that we have a chance to win."
Despite the loss, it was one of Abdia's best games in recent times that was somewhat stuttering for him, finishing with 10 points and 7 rebounds including 2 threes from 4 attempts in 26 minutes on the floor.
But on the other side Ja Morant was passionate and led the Grizzlies to victory with 35 points, 10 assists and 5 rebounds.
