Finally kicking it again!
Here in Frankfurt, as in all of Hesse, sports in groups have recently been allowed again.
There are still many restrictions.
But for the young footballers of the Blau-Gelb Frankfurt sports club, the easing is still a blessing.
Luca Mayer-Witting, B-youth SV Blau-Gelb Frankfurt:
“Yes, it was very tough because you could only play two at the most and the games were, so that there weren't any was the worst thing, because they are always great fun. And yes, the training was really nice to finally have it again. "
Children and adolescents up to and including 14 years of age are now allowed to do sports together again, regardless of the group size.
For all older people, the following still applies: exercise, yes - but only alone, in pairs or with people from your own household.
That is by no means a return to normality.
Nobody knows whether point games will take place again soon.
But at the moment the social aspect is more important than the sporty aspect: that the children are allowed to come together again at all, have something to do together.
Lothar Heilmann, coach SV Blau-Gelb Frankfurt:
“It was a bad feeling. We had an intact team. We had an intact social structure within the team, with coaches, with parents, and that has now suddenly been torn apart. And then for a long time of over four months. That hurt. Yes."
Of course, even in amateur sports, nothing works without hygiene concepts: hand washing, disinfecting, keeping your distance and wearing masks on the training grounds.
It's time-consuming, but much better than sitting in front of a smartphone, tablet or telly at home.
Some processes have already been practiced.
Lothar Heilmann, coach SV Blau-Gelb Frankfurt:
»We had already drawn up the hygiene concept when the lockdown began. We did it that way. We also did this on a trial basis among coaches. So it's going wonderfully. The guys also accepted the whole thing very well and we can't complain about that at all. "
The 7-day incidence in Frankfurt is currently around 70 - and the trend is rising.
The new regulations are not tied to this value, but there is a time limit: until March 28th.
Then the state of Hesse will probably adjust the regulation again - on the basis of new resolutions by the Prime Minister.
One can only hope that the young athletes will not all have to stay at home then.
