Twelve years after the end of her career, Christine Lindemann is returning to the handball Bundesliga as a player.
The now 50-year-old will replace goalkeeper Mareike Vogel at HL Buchholz 08-Rosengarten, who is no longer able to play this season due to a ruptured cruciate ligament.
»She is a great person, an absolute professional and in top shape.
She can assess herself very well and with her experience will bring us the necessary calm from the side and active in the game, «says coach Dubravko Prelcec.
Lindemann, who has been a goalkeeping coach for the newcomer since 2017, has played 147 international matches for Germany and won bronze with the DHB team in 1997.
In addition, she was part of the Olympic selection, which took sixth place in 1996.
With TuS Walle Bremen she was five times German champion and three times DHB cup winner.
There is also a European Cup triumph.
In the Bundesliga, Lindemann was last in action for Buxtehuder SV from 1997 to 1999 and then played in Denmark until 2009.

In 2000 she had also finished second in the European Championship in beach handball and in 2001 won the silver medal at the World Games in this sport.
