The players of FC Bayern Munich have qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Against BIIK Kazygurt, coach Jens Scheuer's team won the second leg at the FCB campus 3-0 (2-0).

In the first leg in Kazakhstan, the Bundesliga leaders achieved a 6-1 win.

After the clear first leg win, Scheuer had promoted numerous players from the second row to the starting line-up - only three positions remained unchanged from the 5-1 Bundesliga win at SC Freiburg last weekend.

The newly formed selection did not need a long start-up time: the hosts received a penalty after just 25 seconds after a handball.

Captain Lina Magull turned safely into the left corner (2nd minute).

In the 40th minute, Magull took the penalty again - this time she failed because of the goalkeeper.

More goals were scored against the outsider: Simone Boye Sørensen scored in the 35th minute, Sydney Lohmann increased - again with a penalty - to 3-0 (60th).

The VfL Wolfsburg players also made it through to the quarter-finals with ease.

The team of coach Stephan Lerch prevailed in the second leg 2-0 (2-0) against the Norwegian club Lilleström SK Kvinner.

Ina Gausdal's own goal in the 43rd minute and Ingrid Syrstad Engen (45th) scored the goals for VfL.

The Wolfsburg women had already won the first leg 2-0.

Because of the travel restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, the away game took place in Györ, Hungary.

The quarter-finals will be drawn in Nyon on Friday.

The first legs are scheduled for March 23rd and 24th, the second leg for March 31st and April 1st.
