Tel Aviv will be the scene of the next Champions Trophy, a clash between the French champion and the winner of the Coupe de France (or the second in Ligue 1 in the event of a double from a club).

This Thursday, the Professional Football League formalizes the announcement of the Israeli city.

This will be the first time that the Champions Trophy will be held in Israel.

Due to the Covid-19 crisis, the 2020 edition took place in Lens (Pas-de-Calais) on January 13, 2021 behind closed doors, while the two previous editions took place in Shenzhen (China).

"We are very proud and honored to host the 2021 edition of the Champions Trophy in Israel," explains Daniel Benaïm, founder of the COMTEC group, private organizer of the event.

We will make this match a memorable one for the Israeli public and fans around the world.

“The international development of Ligue 1 Uber Eats remains one of the priorities of the LFP, details Mathieu Ficot, deputy general manager of the League.

Our goal is to always better expose French clubs internationally, to raise awareness of Ligue 1 Uber Eats abroad and in particular in the Middle East.

In 2009, the LFP began to relocate its Champions Trophy in order to best promote its clubs abroad.

This match took place, in chronological order, in the following cities: Montreal (Canada), Rades (Tunisia), Tangier (Morocco), Harrison (United States), Libreville (Gabon), Beijing (China), Montreal (Canada), Klagenfurt (Austria), Tangier (Morocco) and Shenzhen (China).
