At the end of a huge drama in the final game, Maccabi Raj won the state cup for women tonight (Thursday), after defeating Elitzur Ramla 72:73.
This is a particularly sweet victory, if you want to close an account, after the two teams also met in the previous cup final in 2019 (in 2020 the final was not held due to the corona), then Ramla had the upper hand.
This time, too, Ramla came close to doing so, erasing minus 9 with an incredible 0:10 run, but finally absorbing the decisive basket and parting from the title.
Eden Rotenberg, whose defensive action in the closing second ensured the victory for Raj, excelled with 22 points - and sent the girls of the team to a meeting with President Ruby Rivlin and to lift the trophy.
