The TC Rot-Weiß Freising is organizing a somewhat different general meeting this year.

Elections are made by post - and not just a new chairman.

Freising

- Rainer Großkopf deserved the applause at the end of his term of office, but the corona pandemic prevents encounters and emotions.

Thus, the outgoing chairman of the TC Rot-Weiß Freising says goodbye by post at a distance annual general meeting of the association.

On Wednesday, the accounts were sent to the members who will now elect the new board by post in the next few days.

“I started as the last emergency nail in 2010,” jokes Rainer Großkopf in his statement of accounts.

In order for the tennis club from the Savoy Au to continue to exist, he made himself available for two years.

This has now turned into eleven - and Großkopf takes stock with satisfaction: “It was important to me to serve our association and to act on its behalf.

I think it was successful. "

Sigmund Lee is to inherit Großkopf

The chairman has chosen youth leader Sigmund Lee as his successor.

“He didn't want to go in the first attempt,” wrote Großkopf to the members.

"But when things got serious, he got down to business." Four years ago, Lee followed in the giant footsteps of the legendary youth leader Vroni Reis - and now he's taking over a well-established tennis club from Großkopf.

In his last statement of accounts, the chairman had a lot to tell.

For example, the license was withdrawn from the former tenant of the restaurant due to lack of hygiene.

A visit from the police and the public order office at the second lockdown was curious: the officials checked the tennis hall 45 minutes after the Bavarian Tennis Association announced the hall closings.

After a winter season that was completely eliminated, Großkopf realized that the corona pandemic hit the club “financially and athletically very hard”.

Increase in children and adolescents

The youth leader Siggi Lee, who is now likely to be elected 1st chairman, has positive news.

He reported that at the beginning of the 2020/21 indoor season there were around 150 children and young people in training - until the lockdown stopped everything in November.

The red-whites had a significant increase in the youth members and in the past Corona summer benefited from the reduced range of leisure activities for children and adolescents.

In the 2019/20 financial year, the club had a small minus in the cash register, which was not surprising.

After separating from the tenant of the tennis home, more than 50,000 euros were spent on clearing out and renovating the restaurant.

Treasurer Dirk Sattler makes it clear that in the current financial year, after the indoor season has ended, only what is necessary will be spent in order to achieve a balanced balance.

Many changes in the management team

But now it is first up to the members, who are supposed to relieve the board of directors with their postal reply and also have to vote on the 2020/21 business plan.

The subject of “new elections” is also exciting because the board of directors is being completely renewed.

Actually, with a view to the most important positions, sports warden Klaus Schimpf only continues if the TC members agree.

The previous youth leader Sigmund Lee is running for the post of 1st chairman.

The other nominations are Christian Schwaiger as 2nd chairman, Dominik Pescolderung as treasurer, Florian Weißflog as youth warden and Axel Lindhorst as secretary.

Also suggested are Andreas Neumann for public relations and the cash auditors Werner Neumeier and Christian Trost.

The members now have time until March 31st to send their notes to the TC Rot-Weiß or to drop them in the mailbox at the tennis court.

The counting of the ballot papers will then begin on April 1st at 6 p.m., after which the election results will be announced.
