The French league administration officially announced today (Wednesday) that Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv has been chosen to host the French Super Cup on August 1. The traditional game brings together every summer the French champion with the trophy holder.

Since 2009 the French Super Cup has been held every year in a different city while among the countries that have already hosted the game were Tunisia, Canada, Morocco, USA China and Austria, except for 2020, where due to Corona restrictions the game was held in France.

Paris Saint-Germain has won the Super Cup for the last 8 years in a row, and the Israeli audience will surely be happy to see the constellation come to Israel and complete its ninth consecutive win.

In order for that to happen PSG will have to take an eighth championship in a row or win the French Cup, when already next week they will meet Lille for the quarter-final match.

After 28 rounds, PSG is in second place in the league with 60 points - 2 less than the leading night.

Danny Benaim

, owner and CEO of the Comtec Group: "We are very proud and honored to host the 2021 Super Cup in Israel.

We will make this game an unforgettable memory for the Israeli public and fans around the world.

We are convinced that this event will be the beginning of an exciting and fruitful collaboration between the Comtec team and the French league, not only in 2021, but also for the coming years. "

French League Director General

Mathieu Pico

: “The international development of League 1 remains a top priority for the administration.

"Our goal is always to expose French clubs around the world, to raise awareness for the league abroad and especially in the Middle East. This collaboration with the Comtec team strengthens our desire to promote French professional football in an area important to its development."
