After the sprint on Thursday, Quentin Fillon-Maillet signed the double with the pursuit at Nove Mesto.

Frenchman Quentin Fillon-Maillet, who won the sprint on Thursday, scored twice by winning the pursuit of Nove Mesto, in Czechia, on Saturday, counting towards the Biathlon World Cup.

Fillon-Maillet (28) signed his third victory of the season, the sixth of his career, beating the Norwegian Johannes Boe and the French Emilien Jacquelin.

Despite two rifle faults, Fillon-Maillet took advantage of a last impeccable standing shot to subdue all the other favorites. The Frenchman, unhappy at the Pokljuka Worlds (no title, only one medal) and left behind in the general classification of the The World Cup, his main goal of the winter, confirms his good momentum at the end of the season. In the race for the big crystal globe, the double-holding Johannes Boe performed an excellent operation in three rounds of the outcome, his rival Sturla Holm Laegreid having only finished fourth.

Boe is now 36 points ahead of his young compatriot (24) .According to the rules of the International Biathlon Federation (IBU), however, it will be necessary to subtract at the end of the season the four worst results of each biathlete.

Boe is therefore virtually only seven points ahead of Laegreid.
