Eran Zehavi has been feeling much more comfortable lately in the Netherlands, but remembers well the difficult start.
In the round of interviews he gave to the Dutch media, another interview with the Israeli striker of PSV Eindhoven was published this morning (Saturday) in the popular newspaper "Telharaf", in which he told about the difficulties he experienced when he failed to express himself earlier in the season. From the local media.
"The start was very difficult. It was one of the hardest times of my career. I came to PSV with a lot of expectations and thought I would conquer here a lot. At least at first, it did not go as I had hoped," said Zahavi.
"I started to doubt myself. I tried to analyze my mistakes and I started to think too much. I put more pressure on myself than anyone else, even more than the media."

Zehavi admits that the difficult season opener made him "go crazy".
"I lost it. Mentally, I started blaming myself for everything. I felt guilty that I was not conquering and not playing well. I am very hard on myself. Even when I play well, I always feel I can contribute more. Even when I was infected with Corona I wondered about myself, though "I could not do anything about it. I started asking myself questions - why was I injured? Maybe I was not professional enough? I had a lot of question marks."
"I felt very disappointed that I could not show my abilities. When I feel seen, I am happy. In the end, we all want to feel successful at any given moment. As a footballer, you want to conquer as much as possible. Yes, I probably have an obsession. I'm obsessed. "For years now. That's what keeps me fit and at the highest levels."
According to Zehavi, the injury he suffered actually worked in his favor.
"It allowed me to recharge my batteries and concentrate on our goals this season. The away game against Ajax was a turning point, because it was a very stressful game. I started in the team even though I did not know if I was really ready for it. It was my first game after almost a month away, against the opponent "The hardest in the Netherlands. I admit that I started thinking negative thoughts, but luckily I won a double, and from there it all started."
