Benedikt Doll in Nove Mesto last weekend

The German mixed relay experienced a disappointment at the Biathlon World Cup in Nove Mesto.
Vanessa Hinz, Denise Herrmann, Arnd Peiffer and Benedikt Doll ended up in ninth place in Norway's overwhelming victory over 4x6 kilometers.
Franziska Preuss, third in the pursuit on Saturday, and Erik Lesser were spared by national coach Mark Kirchner.
In the meantime the quartet was only in 23rd place and made 14 spare rounds and one penalty loop by Herrmann.
In the end, the gap to the Norwegians, who only needed four spare rounds, was 3: 38.0 minutes.
Italy secured second place, 1: 08.7 minutes behind, ahead of Sweden (+1: 22.7 minutes).
Hinz, known as Sprint 63.
missed qualifying for the pursuit, barely managed to avoid one penalty loop in both bouts.
Herrmann started the trail in 21st place, almost two minutes behind the Norwegians.
“I am extremely disappointed and I feel sorry for the others.
It was bad from start to finish, «said Hinz on ZDF.
Things didn't go any better for Herrmann, she caught a few gusts in the standing position and then had to run 150 extra meters.
“I'm pretty disappointed.
I took an offensive approach when running.
But after the third competition I noticed that I lacked the substance.
That was nothing, «said the 32-year-old on ZDF.
For a short time, the DSV team was even threatened with lapping.
»In my career I would never have thought that I would fight again not to be overtaken.
It was definitely a really needed race, ”said Doll.
In the final sprint, at least one historically bad mixed result could be averted.
At the 2013 World Cup, the team came in 13th.
