The football department of VfB Hallbergmoos has bagged the next personnel for the coming season: Captain Dennis Hammerl has extended it by one year.

Hallbergmoos

- When the young Dennis Hammerl moved one S-Bahn stop in 2009 and he switched from FC Ismaning to VfB Hallbergmoos, his new club was still a very small light: Back then, the Hallbergmoosers played in the regional league.

Today VfB is playing in the national league - and the 2019/21 season is already the eleventh season that the two-way defender is playing in the airport community.

It won't be the last either: Captain Hammerl extended it for a year and could thus take the step into the Bayern League.

Hammerl has already celebrated two promotions with VfB and would now like to follow up with the third.

And the chances are good: The Hallbergmoos footballers are currently in second place in the Southeast regional league - in the event of a season break due to Corona, the club would rise thanks to the quotient rule.

"I think I can help the team on the pitch."

The 31-year-old makes it clear that his performance was the main reason for the decision: “Why shouldn't I renew?

I think that I can help the team on the field. ”That can easily be proven with numbers: With 30 goals conceded in 27 games, the Hallbergmoosers have the second best value behind SE Freising (27 goals conceded).

The triple chain with Hammerl in the middle and the playing assistant coach Peter Beierkuhnlein on the left is a plus point for VfB, which has the strongest defensive of the absolute top teams.

So far 198 appearances in the national league

Since 2012, nothing has been going on in Hallbergmoos without Hammerl.

The "Mister Reliable" always had between 27 and 32 missions at the end of the season.

Also in the current round he has 19 games.

With 198 national league games (14 goals) at the moment, Dennis Hammerl is VfB's record player - this season is his only national league season so far without a goal.

Maybe Hammerl saved this goal for his 200th national league game.

That would be the second game after the lockdown.

And if the anniversary does not take place due to a break in the season, the promotion would be more than a consolation.

Then VfB Hallbergmoos would wish for the first Bayernliga match that Hammerl would never play in the regional league again.
