Koundé, Aouar, Camavinga: the French team very muscular hopes to attack the Euro

On paper, Sylvain Ripoll's Bleuets are salivating at the dawn of the group stage of the 2021 European Championship.

They too will play their European Championship this year.

Coach Sylvain Ripoll unveiled on Monday the list of 23 players of the French hopeful team for the group stage of Euro 2021, which will take place from March 24 to 31 in Hungary and Slovenia.

We note the presence of midfielders Eduardo Camavinga and Houssem Aouar, who respectively honored three and one selection with the A last year.

Small step back for the Rennais and the Lyonnais, as well as for the Lille striker Jonathan Ikoné (4 caps, 1 goal).

But not for Dayot Upamecano, titular defender in Leipzig who should again take part in the rally under the orders of Didier Deschamps.

Unless an injury prevents it.

Olympique de Marseille defensive midfielder Boubacar Kamara is present, as is captain Mattéo Guendouzi, on loan from Arsenal to Hertha Berlin this season.

Little new, always in the midfield: Aurélien Tchouaméni, one of the revelations of the Ligue 1 season with AS Monaco.

Ibrahima Diallo (Southampton), who has played 4 of the last 5 matches in the Euro qualifiers, is missing, as is Aouar's teammate at OL, Maxence Caqueret.

In defense, the Sevillian Jules Koundé will be eagerly awaited, he whose name is strongly whispered in the A this season.

Finally, no surprise in attack: the Nantes player Randal Kolo Muani, who comes out of a big match on the lawn of PSG (1-2), is there.

The star Odsonne Edouard (Celtic), author of 15 goals in 10 matches with the Bleuets, is also present.

Drawn by lot in Group C, France will play its matches in Hungary with Denmark (March 25), Russia (March 28) and Iceland (March 31) on the program.

The first two of the group will qualify for the quarterfinals, with a second phase to be held from May 31 to June 6.

Since the birth of the biennial competition in 1978, the Bleuets have only lifted the trophy once, in 1988, despite brilliant generations.
