The former coach of Quevilly and SC Lyon will end the season on the bench at Créteil after the departure of Richard Déziré and the interim during qua

Almost three weeks after the separation with Richard Déziré, Créteil finally has his new trainer.

It could have been Karim Mokkedem, dismissed a few weeks ago from Bourg-en-Bresse with whom discussions were advanced.

But it is another coach, ousted this season in the National, who was chosen: Emmanuel Da Costa, disembarked from SC Lyon in December.

Only one victory in sixteen games in Lyon

After seven years in Quevilly-Rouen, Da Costa (43) had tried the Lyon adventure this summer.

It ended in failure with only one victory in 16 games.

While he was aiming for the rise in L2, SC Lyon (ex-Lyon Duchère) is still relegated.

"He is someone who has invested a lot in this project, but unfortunately we have the feeling that the management method put in place since his arrival does not bring the expected results", explained the president of SC Lyon, Mohamed Tria at the time of his dismissal.

He is the 4th coach of the season at Créteil

Demanding, demonstrative and endowed with a strong character trainer, Da Costa had succeeded in raising Quevilly in National (2016), then in L2 (2017).

Player, he had evolved in the Paris region at Viry-Châtillon (National 2).

His Portuguese roots have also certainly been an asset in the eyes of President Armand Lopes and Managing Director Rui Pataca.

The urgency for Da Costa, 4th Cristolien coach this season after Carlos Secretario (left for health reasons), Richard Déziré, dismissed after two months and the interim, Manuel Ramos, will already be to raise a team which remains on three defeats and which is only two points ahead of the relegation zone.

First match, Monday March 22 at the leader SC Bastia.
