The 30-year-old Belgian striker suffers from a new muscle injury. Since his arrival at Real in July 2019, he has never been able to give

Eden Hazard is not doing it.

On Monday, Real Madrid once again announced the unavailability of the striker, injured in the right psoas (anterior part of the thigh).

After returning to the field in the match won against Elche on Saturday where he replaced Vinicius Junior for the last fifteen minutes, the Belgium international is still at a standstill just before the knockout stages of the Champions League against Atalanta Bergamo, this Tuesday.

A chain of injuries that never ends for the Madrid left winger.

Arrived at Real Madrid in July 2019 from Chelsea for 115 million euros, Eden Hazard spent more time in the infirmary than he was operational on the field.

Over the 624 days spent with the Spanish club, he lived 352 injured, more than half.

With only 14 games played this season and 22 the previous one, the La Louvière native has missed 52 games with Real Madrid since his transfer.

A number all the more important that in seven seasons at Chelsea he had only missed 21.

Only three goals this season

If, in 2019, he missed the start of the season for a thigh muscle injury, it was in November 2019 that things got worse for the Belgian player.

During the Champions League group stage match against PSG (2-2), Eden Hazard injured his right ankle after contact with his compatriot Thomas Meunier.

In March 2020, the Belgian striker underwent surgery for a fissure in the right distal fibula in Dallas (United States).

But a year after his operation, Eden Hazard is still not out of his nightmare.

Result, this season, he was part of the starting XI only nine times and scored only three goals without ever playing a game overall.

His longest time on the pitch is 78 minutes against Inter Milan in the Champions League group stage meeting last November where he scored.

In two seasons at the Madrid club, the 30-year-old Belgian has accumulated ten stops for injuries to which must be added last November the one due to Covid-19, far from being the one that most prevented him from playing.
