A report recommended the supervised return of pyrotechnic devices to stadiums

This news item may well reinforce the idea of maintaining the ban on fireworks, smoke and other forms of pyrotechnic material inside but also around football stadiums, while many groups of supporters are demanding a relaxation of the legislation.

A fact-finding mission, led by the former Minister of Sports Marie-George Buffet (PCF) and Sacha Houlié (LREM) had nevertheless recommended in May 2020 a supervised use of this type of gear which participate in the festive atmosphere and popular football matches.

According to this report, the smoke-bomb ban policy had shown in recent years to be ineffective: between 2,000 and 3,000 pyrotechnic devices are indeed handled by supporters each season.
