The PSG women's team still does not know its fate in the Champions League.
Winner of Sparta Prague (5-0) in the round of 16 first leg Tuesday, March 9, she has been in isolation since March 12 due to four cases of Covid-19 identified within the group.
A quarantine decided in consultation with the Regional Health Agency (ARS) and which forces the PSG to forfeit two meetings, including the 8th final return, before returning to the path of training this Saturday, March 20.
UEFA must now decide on this return meeting against Sparta Prague, which was scheduled for Wednesday in the Czech Republic.
Sparta communicated on Tuesday on a 3-0 victory on the green carpet, due to the withdrawal of PSG.
A result that would qualify Paris because of the gap widened in the first leg.
But, at this stage, PSG have not been informed of such a decision.
A commission this Friday
This Wednesday, UEFA communicates on this subject: “In view of the compulsory quarantine of the Paris Saint-Germain team by the competent health authority in France, the meeting of the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League between Sparta Prague and Paris Saint-Germain, initially scheduled for Wednesday March 17 in Chomutov, cannot be held.
The case is submitted to the UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Control Body, which will take a decision shortly.
"
"Paris Saint-Germain takes note of the UEFA decision and remains awaiting a return concerning the ethical and disciplinary control body," replied the Parisian club.
The UEFA committee will take place on Friday.
It must decide if the scenario put forward by Sparta Prague (3-0 on the green carpet) is confirmed or if the meeting will take place at a later date.
In case of qualification, PSG must face Lyon in the quarter-finals.
The first leg is scheduled for March 23 or 24 in Paris.
