Two and a half weeks after his death, a small mourners said goodbye to Peter Grosser (82).

During the last escort for the captain of the master lions, his former teammate Fredi Heiss said: "You will be forever remembered as part of perhaps the most beautiful time in our lives."

  • Farewell in a small group: Investor Hasan Ismaik also sent a flower arrangement.

  • The presidents of both clubs also gave Grosser the honor: Robert Reisinger (TSV 1860) and Manni Schwabl (SpVgg Unterhaching).

  • Ex-Haching boss Engelbert Kupka: "As a single, the corona-related restrictions hit him particularly hard."

No folders, no fans standing in line.

As requested by the relatives, Peter Grosser's funeral took place on Friday in a small group.

21 people were admitted, plus 15 non-registered guests.

The mood in the Unterhaching cemetery when the mourners arrived: piously quiet.

Only a flock of crows croaked.

Snowflakes fell from the sky, but now and then the sun also flashed through.

From 3 p.m. there were empathetic words in the funeral hall, which was decorated with a number of wreaths, including a flower arrangement by Hasan Ismaik.

Fredi Heiß, 80, one of three master lions present (next to Hans Rebele and Hansi Reich), gave an emotional funeral speech, addressed primarily to the bereaved.

“We all know how much football meant to him,” he said of his brilliant teammate from yore: “It makes us sad that we lost a comrade from our successful days with our team captain.

We would like to express our condolences to his brothers and the widow of his deceased son Thomas with the three grandchildren, and we also think once again of the incredible fate of Peter that he had to bury his two sons, still very young. ”Besides both Peter Grosser finds his final resting place.

Like football, his private life was also marked by ups and downs.

Former Haching President Engelbert Kupka.

Engelbert Kupka, ex-president of SpVgg Unterhaching, also remembered Grosser's blows of fate, which Grosser had led as a coach from the B-class to the Bayernliga.

"Like football, his private life was also marked by ups and downs," said Kupka, 82, who had also experienced Grosser as vice-president and referee supervisor.

Most of all he will remember Peter Grosser as a person - a true head of character: "Behind a hard shell, anyone who knew him could recognize an attentive, interested, sensitive person."

Exactly this person, as Kupka put it, had become increasingly gloomy in his last months: “As a single, the corona-related restrictions hit him particularly hard.

Lockdown and a steadily deteriorating state of health finally took away his vitality and courage. "

A black and white photo next to the urn showed how the Löwen fans Peter Grosser will be remembered: sturdy-looking, with the bowl won in 1966.

It was a championship coup for the ages - and the captain and best player will not be forgotten until the end of all 1860 days.
