The darts tournament in Milton Keynes, England, was briefly interrupted because professional Raymond van Barneveld had to receive medical treatment.

The world association PDC announced on Twitter that a player "received medical help and left the arena" and is now being monitored by doctors.

Two ambulances had arrived.

The management of the 53-year-old van Barneveld confirmed to the Dutch portal »nu.nl« that the player treated was van Barneveld.

The PDC also confirmed the name of the five-time world champion a few minutes later.

"He was treated by paramedics but did not need hospital treatment," wrote the PDC.

He first went to the hotel, and his condition will be monitored there.

According to »nu.nl«, the paramedics had not found a heart problem.

It is likely that van Barneveld felt uncomfortable because of low blood sugar levels.

He's a diabetic.

"The good news is that it has nothing to do with his heart," said manager Ben de Kok.

"I was really concerned about it."

Van Barneveld only returned to the tour this season after actually ending his successful career in December 2019.
