Mohamed Zidan is one of the most prominent coaches who produced an elite group of swimming champions who have shined in many tournaments and still oversees the training of many promising talents.

Zidan has undergone many training and arbitration courses since 1988 and participated in arbitration in the 1987 Mediterranean round, the 1992 Arab session and the 2004 West Asia round.

In a statement to SANA sports correspondent, Zidan, who is currently coaching the Lattakia national team, said: “I got attached to swimming since my childhood, specifically in the seventies of the last century.

Zidan added ... I trained the Latakia team for the young women category according to advanced scientific training foundations, expressing his pride in the graduation of many swimming champions and his participation in discovering talents that left their mark in Syrian swimming since 1985 in the governorate and republic championships, school tournaments for short and long swimming and in international championships.

Zidan continued ... our swimmers whom we trained left an indelible imprint on the record of Syrian sport’s achievements, as they achieved new Syrian records, such as Ali Ismail, who represented Syria in the Barcelona Olympic Games and the Mediterranean Games in France, and Jamal Masri, who participated in the Mediterranean tournament in 1993.

Zidan pointed out that the most important thing he seeks is to find talents and prepare heroes who are looking to prove their worth in international tournaments and thus raise the Syrian flag on the international coronation podiums.
