The Syrian national football team today started its closed training camp in Bahrain, to meet its team next Thursday in an international friendly match, as part of preparations for the resumption of the joint Asian qualifiers trip to the World Cup in Qatar 2022 and the Asian Cup in China 2023.

And absent from the list of the national team are the players Hussein Jaweed, Maher Daaboul, Khaled al-Mobayed, and Youssef al-Hamwi, because of his infection with the Corona virus.

The team's list included Ibrahim Alama, Taha Musa, Ahmed Madaniya, Shaher Al Shaker, Amr Midani, Faris Arnaout, Youssef Mohamed, Amr Jannat, Ahmed Al Saleh, Abdul Razzaq Muhammad, Thaer Karuma, Muayyad Al Ajjan, Khaled Kardagli, Moamen Naji, Muhammad Anz, Kamil Hamisha, Abdullah Al Shami, Iyaz Othman, Muhammad Othman, Ahmed Al Ashqar, Mahmoud Al Mawas. Al-Marmour, Mardik Mardikian, Ward Al-Salama, Muhammad Rehaniya, Muhammad Al-Hallaq, Omar Al-Somah, Ala Al-Din Al-Daly, Abdel-Rahman Barakat and Mahmoud Al-Bahr, provided that the professional players join in succession.

Our team will meet Iran in a second international friendly match, in preparation for the upcoming qualifiers as well, on the 30th of this month.

The International Federation and the Asian Football Confederation decided to postpone the joint Asian qualifiers until next June due to the Corona pandemic, noting that our team has fifteen points in the qualifiers, which they won from five victories over the Philippines 5-2, the Maldives 2-1, Guam 4-0 and China 2 -1 and the Philippines a second time 1-2.
