Manchester City have reached the semi-finals of the English FA Cup.

Coach Pep Guardiola's team won 2-0 (0-0) at Everton.

In the late opening goal (84th minute) İlkay Gündoğan showed his scoring qualities again.

In the league, the midfielder scored twelve goals in 23 games, making him the team's top scorer.

In Liverpool, he headed off after central defender Aymeric Laporte hit the crossbar.

Guardiola's game is based not only on the fast combination game but also on defensive advances.

Gündoğan had already met during the week in the Champions League against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

A midfielder also made the decision in Liverpool: after Everton had made an offensive change and thus partly dissolved the defense, substitute Kevin De Bruyne made the decision (90th).

City was superior over the entire game, but remained harmless for a long time in the duel between the two former Bayern coaches against Carlo Ancelotti.

The substitution of former Wolfsburg De Bruyne in the 80th minute for Raheem Sterling provided the necessary momentum.

Previously, FC Southampton and ex-Bundesliga coach Ralph Hasenhüttl were the first team to move into the semi-finals with a 3-0 (2-0) win at AFC Bournemouth.

On Sunday, Chelsea FC and coach Thomas Tuchel will meet Sheffield United, and Leicester City will also meet Manchester United.
