Rami Hamada, the goalkeeper of Bnei Sakhnin, received today (Sunday) a historic summons to stand between the beams of the Palestinian team in the World Cup qualifiers in the game against Saudi Arabia, it was reported a few minutes ago on the Babagol website.
Meaning: For the first time in history, an active player in the Israeli Premier League represented the Palestinian national team.
As is well known, Hamada, an Israeli citizen who has played in Palestinian football since he was 16 and has starred in all the Palestinian national teams, signed with Bnei Sakhnin, after playing ten years outside Israel.
Now, the Israeli goalkeeper, who was born in Shefar'am and played for the Maccabi Netanya youth team before moving to the Palestinian League, is expected to leave for Jericho this week to join his teammates, who also received the summons from the Algerian coach of the Palestinian national team, Nordin Old Ali.
As mentioned, the upcoming match of the Palestinian national team will take place in Riyadh against Saudi Arabia on March 31.
