Pinturault, a fabulous double blow

Saturday winner of the giant slalom at Lenzereide, Alexis Pinturault won the big crystal globe.

A promised coronation.

Long awaited.

A perfect scenario.

The successive cancellations of the descent (Wednesday), then the Super G (Thursday) of the World Cup finals in Lenzerheide, had brutally cut the legs of his rival, the Swiss Marco Odermatt (in ambush at 31 points before the last episode) , depriving him of his best opportunities to unseat the leader Alexis Pinturault.

It remained for the leader of the blue-white-red ski to put the finishing touches.

After dominating the first round (Odermatt settling for 10th place), he mastered in the second to snatch the victory that changes everything.

Giant.

For a fabulous double shot: the small giant slalom globe and the large overall classification globe.

On his 30th birthday, Alexis Pinturault will have succeeded in his bet.

With a victory, the 5th of the season to celebrate the most consistent skier of the season.

Alexis Pinturault succeeds Jean-Claude Killy (1967 and 1968), Luc Alphand (1997) and Michèle Jacot (1970) the only French winners of the World Cup general.

Mbappé flies over the debates, PSG (re) takes the lead

The boss is Paris.

Led by a Kylian Mbappé of the great evenings, with two goals to credit, the Red and Blue, untouchable during the first hour of play, took the best of Lyon on Sunday night, at Groupama Stadium.

4-2 victory synonymous with first place in the standings, after Lille's disappointment against Nîmes (1-2, see elsewhere).

"We are taking back our first place and we will try not to let it go," insists the 22-year-old world champion, who has also reached the bar of 100 goals in the French league.

"A new step in my career, a new step towards history," he relishes on

.

On the side of OL, it is obviously the soup with the grimace.

Gones which would have deserved to appear in our flops of the weekend… “Paris wanted more than us and to say that evokes an anomaly”, plague Rudi Garcia.

PSG-Lille on April 3 promises to be even more exciting after this result ...

The XV of France, madly!

With hindsight, we are entitled to regret a little more the very cautious coaching against England as the entrants have turned the meeting upside down in the last moments.

By making, this time, return the powerful Anthony Jelonch and the solid Arthur Vincent before the hour mark, the coach gave freshness and punch in a XV of France which was beginning to be in the hard, to no longer find solution facing the red wall.

Behind a Charles Ollivon, any revolt outside, the French have therefore reversed the course of the match, of history (victory against Wales, 32-30).

Without ever giving up, despite three attempts in the Welsh in-goal refused by the English referee.

A winning coaching therefore.

Serving a character that makes great teams.

True refractory Gauls ...

Gonnet, nine years later…

By completing his last lap in 67 (-4) on Sunday, Jean-Baptiste Gonnet, 38, offered himself fifth place in the Kenya Open and a very solid week, with four cards in the 60s, to -15 total.

Now responsible for the Access Golf Center structure in Valbonne, the Cannois is nevertheless in semi-retirement.

This does not prevent it from still being competitive.

He thus signs after his first top 10 on the European Tour, since the Avantha Masters in India in February… 2012. After putting his career on hold, to devote himself 100% to teaching, the call of the game was the strongest.

Gonnet had returned to the main circuit at the end of 2019 via the European maps final and he seems to want to make the fun last.

FLOPS

Lille passes through

It is not for lack of not having warned… A thousand times, Christophe Galtier warned his players, comparing the match against Nimes to that which the Parisians lost to Nantes last week (1-2).

It was not enough… And the big-hearted Crocs left Villeneuve d'Ascq with the three points, to everyone's surprise.

"It's an XXL feat, not a hold-up," swears Pascal Plancque, the coach of a Nîmes team who reshuffles the cards in the fight for maintenance.

And for the title, the Mastiffs missed a golden opportunity… By winning Sunday, they could have approached their trip to Paris, just after the break, in a leading position.

Instead, they will arrive at the Parc des Princes in the role of the dolphin.

However, both teams have the same total points.

“Nîmes did not steal its victory.

We have surely forgotten certain fundamentals, principles of the game, and conceded two goals, ”emphasizes Christophe Galtier.

The future will tell if this huge blunder against the poorly classified Gardois has had definitive consequences for the title.

LeBron James betrayed by his ankle

At 36 and in his 18th birthday, LeBron James defies the laws of time.

The four-time NBA champion is one of the main contenders for the title of MVP (best player of the regular season) with 25.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.9 assists on average.

Unstoppable.

The "King" is not, however, immune to glitches: he sprained his ankle on Saturday, during the defeat of "his" Lakers against Atlanta (94-99).

Finally, he is human… "Nothing angers and saddens me more than not being available for my teammates!"

I'm injured inside and out right now, he says on social media.

The road to healing begins now.

I will be back soon as if I had never left. ”

Soon ?

Perhaps.

In the meantime, no resumption date communicated by the Los Angeles club.

Hard blow for LeBron and the Lakers, who are already deprived of their other superstar, Anthony Davis.

Juve crack

Juventus, champion of Italy?

A habit.

The Bianconeri take control of the last nine national coronations, record in the Boot.

But all good things must end.

And it looks like this series has to end at the end of the season.

In any case, the Old Lady is relegated to 10 points behind the Serie A leader, Inter, after their defeat against Benevento on Sunday (0-1).

A chasm… "We must continue to believe in it," Andrea Pirlo said of the Scudetto.

We must continue to make our way to try to stay there.

The objective does not change, it is the head that must change. ”

Chick?
