Professional boxer Zachenhuber, born in 1998, showed a contemporary to the Aerosmith hit "I don't wanna miss a thing" - and for a certain reason got very emotional.
The training week had started as always, but Simon Zachenhuber's eyes widened at first.
When he asked his dance partner Patricija Belousova which shoes he needed for the next dance, she threw his two pairs of shoes in the corner and explained to the 22-year-old that he had to dance barefoot.
Contemporary was on the program.
“I have no idea what contemporary is,” said Zachenhuber helplessly, but he was informed that it was an improvised dance with free choreography.
The professional boxer repeatedly practiced a certain sequence of steps later, but it didn't work out at all.
"That annoys me.
I do sports full-time.
It can't be that I can't do it, ”he scolded.
The rehearsal was abruptly interrupted by a phone call.
It was Simon's sister Amelie who informed her brother that the family dog Kira had died.
The 22-year-old couldn't hold back his tears.
"She was 13 years old, that's how long she was in our family - we all grew up with her," he said sadly.
“She was next to us when we went to bed and she was next to us when we got up.
We experienced great things with her every day. "
Ultimately, training or preparation for the show was a good distraction, “and I was able to process it well with this dance.
I just tried to dance away my grief, ”said Zachenhuber.
The choreography was done by his partner.
“During the training we still changed, adjusted and considered a lot: what works and what doesn't,” explains the 22-year-old.
“With the lifting figure in particular, we weren't sure whether we should leave it in because it often didn't work.
But in the end we said: It's so good, we just have to try it. ”And it should work.

Zachenhuber's fear was unfounded.
With Patricija Belousova he offered a successful, very emotional performance.
The highlight was the spectacular lifting figure when he held his partner over his head with outstretched arms.
"Patricija was very proud of me and immediately after the performance she praised me for having done it so well," he says with a beaming smile.
"My goal was that I put a lot of emotions into it."
And he succeeded, because the jury was also overall satisfied.
“I liked the teamwork,” said Jorge Gonzalez, praising the choreography.
Zachenhuber only has to work on his posture.
His conclusion: "That was sovereign - you showed feelings."
Motsi Mabuse told the 22-year-old that he should not only take care of his partner, but also of himself. If he then manages to pull off his movements correctly, “then it will be great - and we will all explode here ”.
Joachim Llambi liked the second part of the dance better than the first.
“At the back it became freer,” he analyzed and gave the 22-year-old the type: “Produce yourself here.” He doesn't need to be afraid of the jury.

With the points from Gonzalez (6), Mabuse (7) and Llambi (6), Zachenhuber and his dance partner got 19 points, which in the end should be sixth among twelve couples.
Once again the performance of the Icelandic ex-footballer Rurik Gislason with professional Renata Lusin was outstanding, who achieved the top result of 30 points for their jive.
At the end of the ranking, ex-daily TV announcer Jan Hofer landed with Christina Luft.
They got it to twelve counters.
"Of course you always want a little more points," said Zachenhuber.

When the presenters Victoria Swarowski and Daniel Hartwich announced who had to leave the show after the audience vote, it got exciting.
For Zachenhuber / Belousova, redemption came pretty quickly.

He believes that it wasn't so much the points that made him advance, but the callers: "I'm very, very grateful that people support us in such a way."
He has received a lot of positive feedback from friends and acquaintances, especially from Erding.
