Maccabi Haifa is expected to know soon whether it will have to compensate Steaua Bucharest for the transfer of stopper Bogdan Planic last summer.
At the end of the month, the arbitration at the UEFA between the Greens and Steaua is expected to take place, with Haifa believing that Planic's contract with the Romanian team was not valid because the player was not paid for several months.
Also, even if compensation for the obligation to lead the table is discontinued, it is estimated that it will be relatively small.
It is important to note that in the summer Steaua's owner Gigi Bakali demanded a sum of € 10 million for the Serbian brake, but this is a controversial man when it was clear that those sums were unrealistic.
Quite a few teams in Europe were reluctant to transfer Planich due to the legal issue, but Haifa went for it in the belief that there are a number of failures and problems in the player's contract with Steaua.
Planich himself thanked the heads of Maccabi Haifa in internal talks for their willingness to enter into a deal despite its complexity.
On another issue, the team's contact, Charon Cherry, was invited to the Suriname national team's games against the Cayman Islands and Aruba.
Sherry will take off from Israel for Florida, where the games will take place.
He is expected to return to Israel next Thursday and the club hopes he will not arrive tired ahead of the game against Maccabi Petah Tikva next Saturday.
