SpVgg Langenpreising wins the pot

SpVgg Altenerding and FC Erding 2 also make it onto the podium in the open district championships.

SpVgg Altenerding and FC Erding 2 also make it onto the podium in the open district championships.

Erding– When things got serious, Maxi Hösl and Sebastian Michel were unbeatable.

From the round of 16 onwards, they haven't lost a single game.

The logical consequence of this: The new Erdinger district champion in eFootball is called SpVgg Langenpreising.

32 teams took part in the MA Club Championship.

This year the teams came from Tölz and the Allgäu.

After all, it is an open championship that the MA Gold Cup and Erdinger / Dorfener Anzeiger have played on the console.

In the semifinals, however, the teams from the district were among themselves.

And on Sunday evening it was all about the first four places.

FC Erding won the small final.

Matthias Bartke laid the foundation with a 6-1 win over Emre Pehlivan.

It was almost clear that Chris Hertel couldn’t take it away.

In the end, nobody was able to beat him - which otherwise only Jonas Fottner from SV Bad Tölz could do - in the entire tournament.

"Of course it is bitter for me that I was knocked out unbeaten in this tournament," said the 22-year-old Erdinger afterwards.

"But since we were there for the first time, I am definitely very satisfied with third place." Hertel praised tournament director Maximilian Maier, managing director of the MA Gold Cup.

And Maxi Hösl joined in: "Chapeau, that was another outstanding tournament, everything was great from start to finish."

The Langenpreisinger champion looked back again.

“We didn't go into the round as favorites.

We didn't see ourselves as such, but we wanted the playoffs. ”After second place in the preliminary group (Hösl:“ We didn't perform so well a couple of times ”) the SpVgg duo was“ on fire ”.

"We haven't lost a game and didn't win the tournament undeservedly."

Especially in the final, which a total of around 200 viewers followed live via Twitch, they went one better.

The fact that Sebastian Michel defeated the up to then unbeaten Altenerdinger Ajdin Nienhaus 2-1 was not a sensation, but not necessarily to be expected.

“In the end it was just the nervousness,” Nienhaus suspects.

“But that shouldn't be an excuse, because in the end my opponent deserved to win.

He played brutally strong, was very close at the back and actually countered my greatest strength, namely the offensive game, so to speak. ”Hösl then put the lid on with his 3-0 win against Marvin Pham.

With this, Langenpreising, as the successor to FC Schwaig, has secured the big trophy from the local newspaper as well as the six crates of beer awarded by Erdinger Weißbräu and a voucher for “Gasthaus & Hotel zum Erdinger Weißbräu” worth 50 euros.

“Of course we won't drink the beer alone,” says Hösl.

There will be “A kloans Festl” - in summer, when the corona pandemic is hopefully over.

The second-placed Altenerding (receives four boxes and a 30 euro voucher) and FC Erding 2 (two boxes, voucher for 20 euros) are planning something similar.

And what most of the 32 participants still have in mind: take part in the third edition of the MA Club Championship.

A number of clubs expressed their desire for an open county championship in 2022 immediately after the final.

The chances are more than good, because Maximilian Maier has already pulled out the calendar.

"We will start in January, because we will hopefully have a normal football year again in 2022." After all, all gamblers would much rather be on the pitch themselves.

Maier has put on numerous night shifts in the past five weeks to moderate games, clarify organizational matters and play himself.

"It was a pleasure for me," he says, referring to the friendly interaction between the players.

“At other tournaments, you turn off the console after the game, with us we go on gossiping about all kinds of things for hours.

This social aspect is also important to me. "

But that shouldn't hide how hot the matches were.

“The level was significantly higher than last year,” said Maier.

“The teams were so strong across the board.

No game was a sure-fire success.

Langenpreising has been under the radar for a long time.

From the quarter-finals at the latest, however, you noticed that the SpVgg is capable of anything. ”Which Hösl and Michel then also proved.
