The Erding / Ebersberg circuit finally ticks off the 2020/21 season.

District - The bowlers of the district Ebersberg / Erding (KKR) still have to be patient until they can get back on the tracks and complete the first competition.

As KKR chairman Anton Fuchs announced, the 2020/21 season has finally come to an end.

"At the end of 2020 we still had the hope that we would be able to hold at least the individual championship and possibly even the cup round in the first months of 2021," said Fuchs.

"Unfortunately, this has been shattered due to the development of the corona pandemic and the associated regulations." Since the KKR game operations take place from mid-September to mid-April, the 2020/21 season is already "over".

As is known, the point round was canceled early last autumn as a precaution.

The association committee would have liked to offer a partial game operation in the first quarter of this year, said Waldtraud Irl from the committee regretted the rejection.

However, a lot is still planned at the district and Bavaria level.

"So it makes no sense to quickly offer substitute competitions here as a bowling circle that overlap with these dates," explained Irl when asked by EZ.

"We are focusing on the preparation of match operations in 2021/22."

The association committee will begin preparations for the new round in April, which we will hopefully be able to carry out without any restrictions, ”said Fuchs.

To this end, if possible by then, a meeting with the executive boards and sports officials of the KKR clubs should take place in June.

The committee also hopes that at the end of June the Association Day can be held as a face-to-face event with new elections that were already scheduled last year.

But you may not be able to do without bowling beforehand, especially for performance-oriented bowlers.

The national events of the Association of Bavarian Leisure Bowlers (VBFK) are currently planned for April or May.

These include the title fights in the district and the Bavarian championships.

The latter is to be held in three parts on different weekends this year, instead of just two as before.

On the one hand, this is intended to reduce the number of starters per system.

At the same time, bowling alleys were selected that offer good ventilation and are not set up in the basement.

The tandem competition will be held in Lauf an der Pegnitz (June 25th to 27th), that of the teams in Moosburg (July 2nd to 4th) and the individual and couples competition in Passau (July 16th to 18th) become.

The association championship should then follow in August in Poing.

The prerequisite for the Bavarian is that the qualifying championship at the district level, i.e. the one in Upper Bavaria for the KKR clubs, could be held by mid-June at the latest.

As soon as a competition is possible, according to the VBFK, these should also begin.

A start is planned at the earliest - with an incidence below 50 and the necessary hygiene concepts - from April 12th.

Last weekend, the association provided all clubs with detailed information via video conferences.

Now one looks excitedly at the RKI value and the next decisions in terms of lockdown and pandemic from Berlin.

The following are planned: Association championship in Poing (August 14th to 19th), regional cup (September 4th / 5th), European Championship (September 11th), German championships (October).
