FFF: amateur competitions officially stop, N2 and D2 women still pending

It is now official.

Meeting this Wednesday afternoon for the first time since then the re-election of Noël Le Graët as president of the French Federation (FFF), the executive committee of the federation officially recorded the end of the amateur championships for the 2020 season. 2021 due to the Covid-19 epidemic and reinforced health measures.

Currently, the calendar, already constrained, no longer allows to consider a resumption of amateur competitions.

The N3 championships (5th division) up to the district will therefore not go to the end.

A blank season is therefore pronounced, that is to say that there will be no ascent and descent for the teams engaged in these championships.

No Women's French Cup

The National 2 (4th division), whose cessation was envisaged for several weeks, could however resume at the end of April just like the women's D2.

The situation of these 2 championships, suspended by the Ministry of Sports will be the subject of a subsequent examination with regard to the possible resumption prospects defined by the State during the next FFF comex.

The N2 had been stopped at the end of October when the teams had played only 9 days (8 for some) out of 30.

In women's D2, 6 out of 22 games had only taken place.

Finally, the FFF executive committee also definitively stopped the national championships (D2 futsal, U19 Women, U17 and U19 Nationals, National 3) as well as the 2020-2021 edition of the French Women's Cup.
