Danny Abdia talks about adapting to the NBA (from the Washington Wizards' Twitter page)
Danny Abdia returned tonight (Saturday to Sunday) to Washington's top five for the first time after six games on the bench, but did not stand out in the 92: 106 home win over Detroit when he finished with 5 points (2 of 6 from the field including 1 of 3 off the arc, 0 of 0 from the line), 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 0 fouls and 0 turnovers in 27 minutes.
The Israeli rookie, who did not score at all in just 11 minutes in the previous game against the Knicks, was given a greater opportunity with a return home after three games in New York, and helped the Wardens embark on a new path after recording eight losses in their previous nine games since returning from the All-Star retreat.

Scott Brooks' team enjoyed an encouraging debut from Daniel Gaford who came in a trade from Chicago, and Russell Westbrook's No. 15 triple-double this season (19 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists) - which equaled the club's record for a triple-double this season after just 37 games (the record belonged to Darrell Walker who did so in 283 games in four seasons in the Bolts uniform between 1987 and 1991), but saw Bradley Bill come down to the locker room with a hip injury, and nearly dropped a 30-point lead.
The game was close in the first minutes, in which Abdia missed his first two shots off the arc, before Gaford first came up in the Wizards uniform and led a 0:12 run en route to a 22:33 lead at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter the visitors stopped on just 19 points, while from the other end Bradley Bill got into things, and Abdia also joined the local blitz with a first basket that set 27:41, and three and a half minutes to the end of the half that raised his team to 41:66.

At the start of the third quarter the gap grew to a crushing 44:74, before the injured Path was abandoned and Wayne Ellington led an impressive comeback for the Pistons with several threes cutting the gap to just 79:75 at the end of the quarter.
With a 79:82 lead ten minutes to the end Abdia went down to the bench and did not come back, and saw Roy Hachimura and Raul Neto leaders another Washington onslaught that ran to 83: 101 before downshifting and settling for 92: 106 with the buzzer sound.
Westbrook scored his 19th in 8 of 20 from the field and added 6 turnovers to 19 rebounds and 10 assists.
Bill managed to score 17 points and deliver 6 assists in 21 minutes before being injured, Hachimura finished with 14 points, Gaford contributed 13 in a great percentage (6 of 7 from the field) and Netto and Alex Lenn added 12 each.
At the Pistons Ellington scored 15 and threw just outside the arc (5 of 10), Mason Flamley and Isaiah Stewart contributed 11 each and Jeremy Grant, the son of former Bolts star Harvey Grant, stopped at just 9.
