The Lakers and Nets' arms race excites the NBA: "Trying to buy the championship"

The signings of Drummond in Los Angeles and Aldridge in Brooklyn upset Stephen A. Smith: "Jordan and Kobe wanted to eat their opponents alive. Today all the stars dream of playing together."

And who is the bigger "hitchhiker", LeBron or Durant?

Danny Abdia talks about adapting to the NBA (from the Washington Wizards' Twitter page)

The arms race at the top of the NBA continues.

Tonight (Sunday through Monday) Andre Drummond officially signed with the Lakers, a move that was caught in the United States in response to the Nets 'glittering signings, who may be the playoffs' main rivals.

As you may recall, in recent days Brooklyn has signed Blake Griffin and Marcus Aldridge, who joined the star-studded roster in Brooklyn that includes Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving.

The Lakers, for their part, needed a senior player immediately even in light of the prolonged absences of injured LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but it is impossible not to suspect that this is another move in the arms war between the league's senior teams because the Lakers have enough inside players on the current roster.

Tonight, ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith accused the two teams of pigs, claiming that the Super-Teams - teams made up of stars willing to cooperate - have crossed the line of good taste.

"What's the next thing for these teams? They're more or less buying the championship. I understand what Brooklyn tried to do when they signed Durant, Irving and Harden. With them, that's enough to run for the championship, but also bring in Blake Griffin and Marcus Aldridge? Damn, what? "As for competition? Will you just bring everyone in now? I'm waiting for the playoffs, and I want there to be competition. These teams just want to steal the championship."

Most of the Smiths' criticism is directed at the stars of the teams, led by LeBron James and Kevin Durant - one considered the most influential player in making the Super Teams the norm, and the other one having partnered with several teams on such in the past, and remember joining Golden State champion .

"These players get on my nerves. They've forgotten what the fans really want," says A. Smith.

"Although basketball is a team game, in the end everything is decided on the talent of individuals, on chaps between great players. Today's players do not see it that way, they are not interested in playing against each other, but only with each other. It was Kobe's great, Jordan's - when someone tried to challenge them, they wanted to eat him alive, not play with him. "

According to the Smiths, LeBron and Kevin Durant are "hitchhikers."

"They helped others to win championships. In my opinion, Durant is even 'worse' than Melbourne. He joined a historic team at Golden State, and knew the road to the championship was paved. Now he plays for a team with four All-Stars by his side. He can not come out better than that."

Either way, the Lakers welcome Drummond's signing and are confident he will solve the champion problems both in the short term and down the road, when the playoffs come.

"It worked out perfectly. It's a perfect situation for him and the team," past legend James Worthy carved out.

"He's exactly what the Lakers needed. He's a monster, hard to deal with."

My parent Robert added: "He's a tremendous rebounder but also able to score. He's a great addition to the team, I think he's the missing piece."
