Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - Continue playing or cancel?

This question has preoccupied footballers in the district since the recent lockdown.

Many coaches of the local amateur clubs still want to bring the season to a sporty end.

Most trainers argue, however, not by bending or breaking, but only when it makes sense.

With its four-point plan announced this week and the deadline of May 3rd, the Bavarian Football Association has readjusted the key data (we reported).

The hope that the endless season 2019/21 will end in the normal way has not increased at the clubs between Wolfratshausen and Lenggries.

“We are open to everything.

We look forward to the end of the season, ”says Jona Lehr.

“The table is always a reflection of the service provided.

That's why I'm in favor of continuing to play, ”emphasizes the BCF Wolfratshausen co-trainer and adds:“ If it makes sense and, above all, the new season does not suffer from it. ”Miklos Tot is also in favor of continuing to play.

"But it has to make sense," says the coach of the football friends Geretsried.

“And as long as we can't train across the board under the same conditions, it doesn't make sense.

Then you should break it off and concentrate on the new season. "

The government's piecemeal policy continues with football. "

Willi Link, trainer of TSV Benediktbeuern

Willi Link is of this opinion: "I've been saying for months that they should end the season." In his opinion, "the government's piecemeal football policy continues".

That is why the coach of TSV Benediktbeuern advocates the radical solution: "Reset everything and pretend that this season never happened." the player would have lost interest ”.

"Crush everything until it's safe again."

Guido Herberth secretly favors this variant.

"On the one hand, everyone wants to get back on the pitch and play football as soon as possible," says the DJK Waldram trainer.

“But under these circumstances?

It sucks because you don't have a date to work towards. ”That makes it harder and harder to motivate the players.

"The fun is limited, of course also for me as a trainer."

SC Reichersbeuern: No restart last autumn

“Amateur football takes itself too seriously.

There are now more important things, ”says Maximilian Gögler.

Its SC Reichersbeuern had already decided against playing football last autumn and sees itself confirmed by the current development.

"It wasn't fear of the pandemic that made us not play, but rather postpone the games," explains the SCR coach.

The consequences of a positive test are too serious.

"Quarantining an entire team for 14 days, even though the players are fine, because someone is infected, that cannot be conveyed to an employer," explains Gögler.

As far as the further course of things is concerned, we are now waiting to see what the association says.

"Then we sit down again and decide how we should behave," says the trainer from Reichersbeur.

Much more important than finding a solution for football, be it “that life in general gets back on track”.

The BFV management has meanwhile taken precautions just in case.

Then a quotient regulation should decide on the final tables, as the new paragraph 93 of the game rules provides.

That would automatically mean promotion for SV Ascholding / Thanning, which leads the A-Class four by ten points.

"But of course you want to achieve a sporting goal with sporty means", emphasizes coach Heinz Daughtermann, that he would favor a continuation of the season.

“But if it no longer works, then you have to give in.

So it's reassuring to see that the quotient would speak for us. ”The worst scenario for the ex-professional:“ To cancel the season would be the most unfair solution in my opinion. ”

The quotient rule would be particularly bitter for Bichl

Klaus Heller sees it a little differently.

He emphasizes with good reason: "Of course we want it to go on." As second in the table with three points behind and one game less justified, his sports friends Bichl have the justified hope of making it to the district class in the remaining nine games on their own.

“If Paragraph 93 applies, the season is over for us.” Therefore, from his point of view, a cancellation - “after the cancellation, everyone stays in their league” - would be the fairest solution.

“But I am slowly starting to think that they will break off with the quotient regulation.

Then we just have to submit, ”says Heller.

"The most important thing is that at some point there will be normality again."

For Andreas Riesch, who has just been promoted to head coach at Lenggrieser SC, the idea of a final classification using quotients triggers an ugly déjà vu.

“That would be a real shame, then our relegation would be taken away again.

We've had that before, ”recalls Riesch.

In the 2013/14 season, the LSC had to stay second in the table because of the redesigned district leagues in the district league.

“We want to consolidate second place.

When you get that far, you want to reward yourself with sport, of course, ”the LSC coach hopes for a continuation of the season.

Thomas Gärner, who was only hired as a new coach in winter to keep SC Gaißach in the district class, also wishes that a class lower.

“As a coach I would of course like to have a few more games.

Everyone can read the table.

It would be good if we could collect a few more points in order to be better off with the quotient if it were to be canceled, ”argues the qualified sports teacher.

"But if you look at the situation objectively, I don't think we'll be playing again until the summer." For him personally, relegation would not mean the end in Gaißach.

“I'll definitely start one way or the other.

Better in the district class, of course, but I'll stay in the A-class too. "

With three games a week, the fun is quickly lost

The mind games of those responsible for the BFV gave rise to various ideas in the past few months: shortened preparation time, English weeks or even games every two days.

However, such proposals meet with more or less vehement rejection.

For Herbert Mühr, who favors a break in the season, the implementation of such considerations in the lower amateur leagues would take on "disastrous moves".

"With only three weeks of preparation after a six-month break, injuries are inevitable", supposes the trainer SF Egling-Straßlach.

“And with three games a week all the time, the players will soon lose the fun.” For a completely different reason, Willi Link considers the English weeks to be the wrong means: “There would be numerous game failures because the teams did not have enough healthy players, and so on second team and old men fall back, ”predicts the Benediktbeurer coach.

"There is no longer a sporty solution for this season."

“English weeks wouldn't be the big logistical thing for us,” says Martin Grelics.

The coach of TuS Geretsried worries about the physical strain on the active people.

“What does it do with the bodies of the players?

I am not a complete opponent of English weeks, but it should be done with moderation, otherwise it will cause injuries. ”Therefore, under the current conditions, he considers the quotient rule to be“ the fairest solution.

That is bitter for the teams in second place, but then there is no other way. "

At some point you have to say: It's good now! "

Walter Lang, coach of SV Bad Heilbrunn

Walter Lang also considers the preparation shortened to three weeks to be “highly questionable”.

“The risk of injury would be very, very high.

Ligament injuries and cruciate ligament ruptures would be programmed.

This leads the sport to absurdity, ”says the SV Bad Heilbrunn coach.

If the new season were to continue seamlessly, possibly due to time constraints, that would not be acceptable for him.

“I always want to do it in a sporty way, but I see a very big risk for the players.

They'll have to deal with it every day.

If not on the pitch, then with the physiotherapist, ”fears Lang.

And that doesn't stand for it.

Ultimately, given the current Corona situation, it might be better to draw a line.

“Now we're going to be doing this season for almost two years,” says the HSV coach.

“At some point you might have to say: It's good now.

We tried everything, it just didn't work. "
