Easy winners (0-2) of the Icelanders this Wednesday, the young Blues have validated their ticket for the final phase of the competition.

Les Bleuets will see the final phase.

The France Espoirs team, which had to beat Iceland to be sure of playing the quarter-finals of the Euro in its category, did the job on Wednesday.

A victory (2-0) acquired without forcing too much, thanks to goals from captain Mattéo Guendouzi (17th) and his striker Odsonne Edouard (38th), against the Nordics already beaten twice in the tournament and who had dismissed four of their players in the A.

Meeting against the Netherlands at the end of May

Because the essential is there for the band Sylvain Ripoll: we will see the Bleuets, second in their pool, in the quarterfinals of this Euro with the convoluted formula because of the calendar upset by the health constraints.

It will be May 31 against the Netherlands.

An appointment which the French, an impressive generation, seemed far away after their inaugural defeat against Denmark (0-1) on Thursday.

But three days later, the Bleuets were able to avoid an industrial disaster for this age group by winning Sunday against Russia (2-0) at the cost of strong tactical choices, with Camavinga, Fofana, Kamara and Guendouzi left on the bench.

A backlash confirmed this Wednesday against Iceland.

Here they are well launched to chain the final phase of the Euro and the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
