Big loser of the current formula of the Champions League, with only two places guaranteed in the group stage (the 3rd in Ligue 1 plays the preliminary rounds), French football will benefit from the future reform of the Champions League if the latter is adopted.
The transition from 32 to 36 clubs from 2024 would allow Ligue 1 to recover a third permanent ticket (plus a possible fourth via the preliminary rounds).
