Erding - Most of them will spend their Easter holiday at home this year due to the corona.

“But that doesn't mean that you can't discover anything new because of it.” That is what it says in a press release from Trisport Erding.

The association offers all district citizens an opportunity to practice contactless sport: an orienteering run.

Hansjörg Kübler, a long-time Trisport member and passionate orienteer, has laid out two different routes around the Wörther Moos.

These can be explored continuously or while walking via smartphone.

Orienteering is a natural sport of Scandinavian origin that demands the body and mind equally.

The task is to go to a certain number of predetermined checkpoints - so-called posts - one after the other with the help of a map and compass.

These items are precisely marked on a detailed map.

However, the route between the individual items is not specified.

"This means that the orienteer has to constantly decide the cheapest route to the goal while running," says the Trisport announcement.

The ability to run must be brought into harmony with mental flexibility.

"All that is needed are a pair of running shoes or gym shoes, a smartphone and the appropriate app." Those interested can find all the information they need, brief instructions on how to use the app and a preview of the routes on offer on the Trisport Erding website longer ones for runners, as well as a shorter one that is ideal for walking or also for families with children.

According to Trisport, both routes that Kübler devised lead "in an attractive landscape through the Wörther Moos: The short one stays in the Sempttal, the longer one leads up the hill to Wörth and from there back into the river valley over the Schwillach to the Wörther / Wiflinger Weiher".

On the way down from the hill there is a "wonderful view over the Wiflinger Moos".
