Both Frankfurt and Freiburg have had a high-scoring cup tournament behind them.
After an 8-0 win at Karlsruher SC, the Adler women won 4-0 at RB Leipzig, and in the quarter-finals the Frankfurt women even won 7-1 in Andernach.
The SCF was even more goal-hungry: an 11-0 first round win in Rüsselsheim was followed by a 9-1 in Weinberg.
But the highlight was the 6: 3 win against Potsdam, the Baden women, who can move into the semifinals for the eighth time today.
In the cup, 1. FFC Frankfurt was extremely successful before the merger last summer and won the cup nine times, most recently in 2014. In contrast, SC Freiburg only made it to the final once, but in 2019 they failed because of the female wolves.
In the Bundesliga, both teams are side by side in the middle of the table, the SCF currently ranks three points ahead of the Hessians in 6th place.
In the cup semi-finals, one of the teams can forget about the moderate yield in the league.

The only comparison so far between the two teams in mid-October was won 1-0 by SC Freiburg.
Almost six months later, Niko Arnautis' team wants to return the favor.
"For me it is important that we get the girls in top shape and have a cup fight here at home," said Frankfurt's trainer to hessenschau.de.
His opposite Daniel Kraus is also looking forward to an "exciting fight" in the semi-finals of the cup.
"We will concentrate on our strengths and get everything out of it," said the 36-year-old.
