Starnberg - The show of strength has paid off for the Starnberg Ski Club.
In the past weeks and months, the club had its hands full as the host of the International German Championships in the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom.
Exhausting but at the same time beautiful climax of the work: the implementation of the title fights on the previous weekend.
“Even in difficult times, we managed to host a German championship that everyone involved will remember as a real ski festival”, sums up SCS chairman Helge von Hirschhausen.

Only with a corona test on the site: More than 80 helpers and doctors on duty
A particular challenge for the more than 80 helpers was to ensure that no one enters the Götschen ski area near Berchtesgaden without a corona test.

Viktoria von Schönfeldt and her team at the on-site test center carried out a total of over 300 antigen tests - none of them were positive, the Starnberg Ski Club announced.

“Everyone understood very well, there were no discussions, and we didn't have to deny entry to anyone who didn't want to put on a mask,” says von Schönfeldt.
The biochemist and microbiologist from the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and her team also took care of testing the reporters who were present.
No spectators at the German championship - for the first time live stream
Because even though no spectators were allowed on site, many interested parties were able to follow the German Championships for the first time this year via various video channels on the Internet;
including Eurosport, Sportdeutschland and Bayerischer Rundfunk with World Cup commentators, split times and graphics.
SC Starnberg made the impossible possible "thanks to the sponsorship of the Teamviewer company with a TV production company", is the conclusion of the club.
In terms of sport, the SCS also sold expensively, especially with its junior staff like Pauline Fischer - eighth in the slalom and second in the U18 classification there.
At the very front, however, no local heroes could get involved in the individual races.
For this, Ole Schmetzer, as part of the “Skiverband München I” team, was able to celebrate bronze in the team competition.
