Valencia players briefly leave the pitch after racist slurs

French player Mouctar Diakhaby was reportedly the target of racist insults from an opponent on Sunday.


Valencia CF players left the pitch at Ramon de Carranza stadium in Cadiz around half an hour into the game on Sunday and the Valencian club tweeted racist remarks against French defender Mouctar Diakhaby.

“All our support for Diakhaby.

The player, who received a racist insult, asked his teammates to return to the pitch to fight.

“The team got together and decided to come back to defend our colors, but Valencia CF strongly condemns racism in all its forms.

Diakhaby leaves the field, followed by his teammates

Around the 31st minute of play, Mouctar Diakhaby stopped playing to attack Cadiz player Juan Cala.
