The French soccer champion Paris Saint-Germain recorded another corona case before the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League at Bayern Munich (Wednesday, 9 p.m. / live ticker SPIEGELde .; TV: Sky).
After Marco Verratti, his Italian national team colleague Alessandro Florenzi also tested positive on Monday.
PSG announced this via Twitter.
Whether the new edition of the Champions League final of the previous season is now in jeopardy remained open at first.
Florenzi had already gone into isolation after the positive test by midfield clock Verratti - who had become known on Friday.
Both national players last played in the World Cup qualification for Italy.
For Verratti it is the second positive test this year.
In January and early February, Verratti had to sit out after a positive test and then missed two games with the French top club.
Further details on the renewed positive result at Verratti were initially not known.
Bayern consolidates the table lead, PSG loses it
Both players could return after the legally mandated seven-day isolation for the second leg in Paris on April 13 if they can show a negative corona test.
From a sporting point of view, Verratti's failure weighs heavier.
Florenzi was only used sporadically recently, Verratti had to struggle with injury problems recently.
PSG lost the dress rehearsal before the Bayern game: The team lost 1-0 to Lille and was thus pushed out of first place in Ligue 1.
Bayern Munich, on the other hand, consolidated their lead in the top match against RB Leipzig (1-0).
