Victim of online violence.
FC Nantes denounced on Tuesday death threats and racist insults on social networks against his midfielder Imran Louza, assuring that such remarks had their place "neither on a football field, nor outside".
These remarks were published by an Internet user after the defeat of Nantes against Nice (2-1), which makes the threat of relegation to Ligue 2 ever more serious. They have been deleted by the platform but still circulate via a screenshot made by a journalist to denounce them.
The club tries to block the authors of the messages
“This is not the first time that members of the club have received this kind of attack, which we strongly condemn.
We will not relax our efforts to put an end to this ", explained FC Nantes," deeply shocked ", in a statement.
If the choice to file a complaint or not is up to the people concerned, the club for its part works with the Professional Football League (LFP) and social networks to report and attempt to block the perpetrators.
Supporting Louza, the French Espoirs international, and his family, FC Nantes declared that they were counting on “the Yellow and Green supporters, fundamentally attached to the humanist values of football, to do the same”.
Since Monday, Imran Louza has received many messages of support.
Cyclist Nacer Bouhanni has also been targeted by racist insults on social networks in recent days since his collision in the last meters of Cholet-Pays de Loire with another runner, Jake Stewart.
The Arkéa-Samsic sprinter has announced his intention to file a complaint.
