Although Maccabi Tel Aviv did not manage to beat Maccabi Haifa (1: 1) in the game of the season yesterday and increase the gap at the top to four points, the champions were satisfied with the point that left them in first place.
"We have a better squad than Maccabi Haifa, but this battle will be close to the end. The experience will be decisive," say Kiryat Shalom, where they praised striker Eduardo Guerrero, who came off the bench for the eighth time this season (out of nine appearances) and scored the equalizer with Sami Ofer.
"Guerrero's goal in the first round was one of our most important this season, maybe this goal will be more important in the end," the club said. "The contribution that the players from the bench are making this year is something abnormal."
Dor Peretz, who scored the goal, also received compliments: "Peretz is simply two levels above the entire league."
Striker Alexander Peshich was not included in the squad because, according to coach Patrick Van Leven, he has not fully recovered since recovering from Corona, but in the upcoming game against Maccabi Petah Tikva he may already be dressed, in light of the red card received by Nick Blackman.
